Business travelers in Finland are now offered Smart receipts from Eurocard at all Scandic hotels. “After payment guests will receive a digital receipt in their mobile where it is automatically paired with the right transaction and sent to their expense management system,” says Christian Borg at Scandic Hotels Finland.
The digitization of receipts is an area which is gaining increasing attention from many modern businesses worldwide. It’s not just the added benefit of saving time on receipt management nor reducing the risk of receipts getting lost that makes it so attractive, but it is also a much more sustainable way to do business.
Scandic Hotels has long been a popular destination for business travelers in Finland. Here, the potential for digital receipts has been considered for a long time.
“Traditional expense management processes including receipt handling are time-consuming, and the expense – in relation to an overnight stay at a hotel – can be considerable. We want to offer our customers a more cost-efficient, convenient and sustainable alternative to the traditional paper receipt,” says Christian Borg, Commercial Director at Scandic Hotels Finland.
This was also one of the main reasons why Scandic Hotels Finland were eager to find out more about Eurocard’s Smart receipts solution.
“We knew that Eurocard had a lot of experience within corporate payments, so it presented an interesting option for us.”
As a result, all business guests paying for their stay at a Scandic Hotel in Finland with a Eurocard now have the possibility to choose to receive digital receipts. No hassle with paper receipts– just a completely digital receipt experience.
“What makes Smart receipts unique is that companies actually receive a digital receipt, all the way from purchase to accounting,” says Eeva Virtanen, Sales Manager at Eurocard in Finland. “This means significant time savings, far fewer errors and considerably reduced administration costs.”
How Smart receipts work:
- A customer pays for a business expense at a merchant that is enrolled to the Smart receipt service.
- A digital receipt is instantly sent to the cardholder’s smartphone and automatically paired with the correct transaction. It is then sent to the company’s expense management system.
About Scandic Hotels:
