At the SaaS company Kleer (formerly PE Accounting), some functions must never stop working. “If we miss a payment, business-critical functions are shut down,” says Olle Rydqvist at Kleer. “Our virtual cards guarantee that this won’t happen.”

Kleer offers financial- and accounting services and automated systems for Software as a Service (SaaS)- and consulting companies, where you gather, accounting, invoicing, payroll, time reporting, expense management and group consolidation in the same place.

“Many of our customers do all their invoicing with our software and also get advice based on the behaviours we observe,” says Olle Rydqvist at Kleer. “The aim is to provide clients with a good basis for decision-making so that they can improve their procedures.”

But Kleer is naturally not alone in offering this type of accounting system, and in order to stand out from the competition, two aspects are crucial: providing an excellent service and being visible.

“Firstly, it’s important that our platform is up to date and reliable,” says Olle Rydqvist. “That’s why we regularly buy software, hosting services, etc. online. Secondly, we invest a great deal in marketing, especially on social media.”

Since 2016, they have paid for such services using a virtual card – a corporate card specially designed for online purchases.

“Virtual cards were an easy choice,” says Olle Rydqvist. “These purchases are business-critical for us, because if we don’t pay on time, the services will be shut down.” Using a physical card that could be lost or stolen felt too risky, he says.

Sofie Lernerud who is the Office Coordinator at Kleer, regularly makes online purchases on behalf of the company. For her, a virtual card makes things much easier.

“We now enter our card details once at a point of purchase and all transactions are itemised on a single invoice. This provides us with an excellent overview while minimising the risk of missing a payment, she says”
